1. The Wall is half great. Songs like Comfortably Numb, Run Like Hell, Is There Anybody Out There, and Hey You helped define their career. As a whole, it's a little shaky, especially when playing agains the overbearing film that was made.
2. Dark Side Of The Moon is a good unit, but it sure ain't the band's finest moment. They wrote better songs and played better.
3. Animals---rocks my world!! Such a great monstrous machine the band became during this time.
4. The Final Cut. Anyone here listened to this much? When I first heard it, I was saddened by how the sound reflected the band's then-disjointedness. But now it may be my second favorite disc of theirs (even though it's really Waters') next to Meddle.
5. Amused To Death. What a powerful fucking album. Again, like the wall, it's a little too much to support at times, but some of those songs are phenomenal.
6. The Division Bell--Good God I love and dispise it. Take It Back and Coming Back to Life are such fucking top shelf tracks! I only wish he'd had help with lyrics from Waters...
After watching this procession of output over the years, I assume most of us are disappointed with how it's ended. What is Gilmour doing??
Roger Waters has recently put out his latest political rally-for-a-cause batch of songs. They're shit to my ears. He's lost his touch.
Check them out if you haven't already:
