it depends on what type of financial situation you are in at the moment. if you need to pay the bills, equity can not do that. if you have cash on the side, and can afford a risk for a long term payoff, give it a shot, as long as the venture only requires you to invest your time and energy once, upfront. don't make it a habit or a job where the only result maybe be equity.
