They definately walk the fine line between art and design a lot of the time. A few years ago John Warwicker was into drawing really detailed pictures of clouds. When I saw him talk at he weekend he said he's really into doing drawings of his tv while he's watching it. Somehow I think he'd rather be drawing than designing!
