heh :).
When we 'discovered' the dam a few years ago, we spent some days there, and then I had to return the the UK.
My friend however, cut a great deal with the Best Western, a few blocks down from Volndelpark, and right next to the Van Gogh Museum.
Despite it being a proper Best Western, upon returning late at night (and it was a miracle finding our back across town some nights), the place had a healthy stench of weed, as the porter was sat in reception happily puffing away, so we felt right at home.
Not the cheapest, but friendly staff and....the killer...
a buffet style breakfast thewas worth staying up for..
Just how many slices of cheese can one man eat between 7am and 10 ?
More then the German families also present could reasonably tolerate.
Up to the room for a smoke and a nap afterwards.

Best Western :)...its the best.
