seriously
i started with A 1986 vhs
camera (old skool)looked like this :
and an erasable marker board

would hold down record for like a second - then stop.erase the board, change slightly ..... repeat rec/stop

but this was back in 87 ...
things may have changed since then .,.,
i hear they have something called "after effects" or "flash" or something now
