well, it's a long story kinda
last last june (2003), i responded to an rfp and won the project. i started on the project and was paid 2/3 of the full project quote in 1/3 payments. then their marketing director quit, and the project was just kinda up in the air. so they call again last june, asking to have their project finished. their emails stated "just give it a new look with the existing content on the current site", which was a deviation from what they wanted and stated in the rfp. so usually, i tend to plan out larger projects a couple months in advance, so their new notice wasn't all that exciting to me. but i was able to squeeze it in (sorta) and finished up the site with a launch date of oct 21. they come to me on the 21st and say they're terminating the contract because of missed deadlines and because it's not meeting their new needs (which were never stated once the new person came aboard). in the contract it states that if the contract is terminated by the client, instead of me receiving my final lump payment, i turn over my timesheet for the project, which I did. Now, even though they're saving money by not paying the lump sum, they're still trying to squeeze me into just forgetting that i did any work.so yeah, just a bunch of incompetent idiots.
