Very directly connected.
Welfare, especially generous one (ie. Germany's) destroys economy and makes people lazy. Why work if the government can feed you? Then think of where the govt. takes the welfare money from.Socialism gives people a fish (money), capitalism gives them fishing rods (jobs). That's just my opinion.
