    I respectfully disagree with that statement about shitty metal Puter.

    For me hardcore was really not even about the music as much as it was about the message. I believe hardcore has the same origins as punk but it was the dark politically motivated side of punk. yeah there is political punk but to me punk was about self gratification and getting wasted and rebeling against society and individualism whereas to me hardcore's messages were always based around unity and working to change society's wrongs as a uniform group. Thus some of the names in hardcore... Social Justice Unity is Strength Uniform Choice Chain of strength.

    I agree that the musicians were informed by metal riffs and borrowed from metal (and punk) but they never just simply aspired to be shitty metal. They aspired to spread a political message. Just my take from the hardcore experience.
