Made me laugh reading ur question, i have just returned from the compyueter store for the exact same reason. My sugegstion is to buy a usb mic if you want it to run with ur mac... They costa bit more, but it'll work, and so more grief, also check www.ispq.com tehy ahve just released there new mac osx version 7, which is by far the ebst community chat vid /mic software outh theer i think...
