It is rare for songs to climb in the British top 10. They enter, and they fall. It's how the industry works there (primarily because single sales are so pathetic).
The Christmas number one will be one of the songs from the two bands formed in 'Popstars: The Rivals'. My bet is on the girls with 'Sound of the Underground', which will make it one of the least stupid Christmas #1s in many many years.
