aaah i am thinking of a different monkey god.

well buddhism did start in eastern india and spread north eastwards...into china and other parts.....while hinduism became more prominent in india.....

but have you read about Ashoka?

it is funny though almost all grt male figures in the history can be grouped together as not responsible to their wives

Ashoka married and didnt really care for his wife and loved someone else.

Krishna loved someone else and was married to another

    Siddartha left his wife.

Ram didnt take his wife back after rescuing her from Ravan because she had been impure by merely being in company of another man.

i digress but had an argument with a friend about the whoel hero/god worship in india..

    anyways ;)
