I've found that networking is the best way.. Surprisingly I've found friendster to be extremely useful in this regard.. I have met two freelance Consultants through that and after meeting them a couple of times, we are now business partners so they basically go out and get the jobs, I do the work.. works great for me.. and then the rest of the work comes from existing clients and their recommendations.. so basically once you get started offf, as long as your work is up to standard and you do as much as you can to make your clients happy to begin with they hwill have no hesitiation in recommending you to their own business partners or friends/family etc etc.. Networking is the king here in my experience..
