kingjulien, KRS has always expressed a harsh commentary on life based on where he lived and grew up in. 30+ years and counting. He's a legend in his community whether you feel he's contributed to it or not. Whats ignorant to you may make perfect sense to many. Obviously commenting on 9/11 is a touchy subject because so many lives were lost but its not unimaginable to think that the World Trade Center had a negative symbolism attributed to it within certain communities. It's the symbol he commented on, not the loss of life. Now the contribution hiphop has had in the black/latino communities is an entirely different argument but in my opinion, hiphops greatest contribution has been to shed light on the disarray of inner cities all over America. You're pigeon holing an entire artform into this gangster rapping, medallion wearing, big car owning stereotype which is a detriment to civil rights and black success.
