  Seriously there is no pc manufacturor that can come close to the build on a powerbook. It is just a solid, quality machine and you notice the second you lay your hands on it. Nothing compares.
  If I were to buy a laptop and it had to be x86, I would go with the eMachines 64 bit offerings, or the Acer Ferrari. Those are the most feature packed ones on the market for the price.
  The centrino option is ok, but seem overpriced. If you want small maybe that new Dell m700 or whatever.

  I would seriously go visit an Apple Store and mess around with those powerbooks. The build quality is amazing and the OS is far superior.

  You can sync your pc with your mac no problem...
