NAC: sweet its up now... clean I like the simplicity, to me it just seems like it may be a good idea to bring elements a little tighter, although the space may help the cleany-ness of things. good work

Thanks! We wanted to be pretty clear that a site about a cuisine magazine shouldn't have too much clutter, so you hit it perfectly. I'll work with tightening it up a bit, if you think it needs it.

Dutchboy: job well done, era404! hey, may i ask, you work with enobrev not?
    -----
Yup, Dutch. Eno's a bud of mine. He's not on this gig, but we collaborate on others. Very talented guy. I'd recommend him to everyone.

SpiralStarez: I agree that you should tighten it up or something. With the white background I think it looks like my eye continues past all the content onto the blank right side of the page. Maybe a simple grey darker over there might look nice.

The client was worried about losing the 800x600 users, but we've been trying to persuade them that it's not an issue anymore. We can try a darker bg to confine the content better, but i wonder if it'll dirty the simplicity and mince feelings about the cleanliness of food. Thanks for the tip, though. I'll play with it.

Mrbolina: maybe it is just me, but I think the #336699 colored cell should span 100% across the page, and maybe some sort of different separation between articles, subscribe and gear, it all seems to blend together for me. Nice work though

Separators may be a good idea. I don't want the grid to be lost (along with readibility). I'll give that a try. Thanks, man!
