personally, i feel semiotics is a bit like painting, the ultimate place where the elements which produce a common thing are changed into new things. It's a bit like Cage on his prepared piano. A few years ago i would look unto this with some "bhaa! that's shite", but not anymore. The pleasure of dissecating meanings and sense is incredible.
I don't know if this change has to do with the fact that my pet is in facto a monster...
