Just to clarify, it IS our right as American citizens to bear arms, as in Constitutional Rights. If we start taking away those, then there will eventually be limited freedom. See where I am going?
Personally, I am all for the right to carry a concealed weapon, assuming you get licensed to do so. And as far as I know, most states it is illegal for your weapon to be visible (you can imagine the fear and chaos it'd cause).
That said, I see no reason why peope should carry guns near an airport, unless they are transporting them. If they are, then they must be in a concealed and unaccessible part of the car (like the trunk), and not loaded. They also are required to notify the authorities of the possession.
Va's law seems a little f'd up. I can imagine the law that you are required to license a concealed weapon and not an exposed one was from the 1800s. How and why they eased their regulations based on the pressure of some expremist red necks is beyond me.
Just one more example of the folks that are going to vote for Bush. I never meet any, but this is proof that they are out there, and they are obnoxious.
