Drunk guy hits my car (I wasn't in it) and totals it. He somehow crawls away from the scene though everyone who saw him said he could barely walk.
He goes missing for a week. Seems he has same insurance company as I do and I finally find out through them (after much haggling and yelling on phone) that 1/2 hour after accident he reports his car stolen. Nice. More haggling, insurance co. not helpful.
Im out one night and happen to tell the story to someone who says call my lawyer. I call and he says...oh, I know your insurance agent..have two suits pending with her now. Call her and tell her if she doesn't have a check to you by week's end, I'll be calling her.
I do and get a check for the FULL value of the car (which I couldn't have sold it for) and I get a new, improved car. yay.
