My favorite one of the moment is:

Irony obviously existed even then. It combines an old school fette fraktur type serif in gold foil on the outer with a great photo. The inner copy was done in a techno type face. Now it seems dated, but at the time and looking back it was a groundbreaking cover.
At first it seems unimpressive however on closer looks and actually having the album myself I have discovered it's beauty over time. The design is visually akin to an album you listen to once and don't really like, but by the 10th time you're hooked.
