whether it's a PC or an Apple has nothing to do with your problem...
... if you're on a PC - you should get great speed on IE.
Have you checked your security settings in IE? If you have them raised too high.. things tend to move slow. Also - if you're running SP2 on a PC - you may want to disable the stupid pop-up blocker and maybe even the new firewall - Use 3rd party stuff like that Google toolbar or Zone Alarm Pro for a firewall if you need one. Microsloth's additions do slow down IE on a PC if you have all that junk enabled.
