controversial statement starts:
i think you're all a bit out of order to be honest. it's not like kubrick made the first three films, and lucas has come in and added bits/enhancements/f#ck-ups to them - those films are *his* babies. do you have the same opinions about your designs? that if your design becomes popular, you don't allow yourself to make later changes to it even though you think it will improve the overall effect?
as for the ghost thing, it seems fair enough to me. lucas makes the first three films, not knowing if he will ever make the pre-first three films. when he gets the chance, he then makes a change to the original three so that the transition is more plausible. you can't seriously knock him for that can you?
in my opinion, your opinions are as a result of the *first* two (new two) being rubbish. if they were great, you'd let him do anything.
