i'm doing the opposite - lived in ny for like 7 years (in brooklyn) and moved out to CA in march. Probably headed up to san fran early next year as the rest of CA is more culture shock than i can handle. Move to brooklyn if you're moving to ny - much more casual and cheaper than manhattan.
