i don't think he's gay...he constantly refers to ex-girlfriends and such. plus, he's surrounded himself with openly gay contributors (david sedaris, david radkoff etc), so he shouldn't have any qualms about coming out.
That is the bestest show around, tho...made many a dreary work day fly by.
