I would definitly recommend doing a foundation course first, not only will it help you get a good portfolio ready for your degree course, it's also a lot of fun as you can do a bit of everything. This way you can find out what you are really interested in.
I got my degree in graphic design last year at Falmouth, and I was very happy there. Good tutors and work standard and a relaxed atmosphere.
