sounds like a hairline fracture to me. Hairlines wont even show up in xrays for about six days (they have to scar up a bit before they can be seen) My wife has one currently. The doc said she could put it in one of those removable shoe casts or just deal for a month or two. If the swelling/bruising continues for more than a week, go to the doc, as that is a sign of a more signifigant break tearing at vessels in your foot.
