    that's awesome.
See, I spent some time earler looking over the various derek sites, and reading all the YM entries.
What strikes me as interesting is just how generic it all is. On his sites, there are good photos, but they're nothing new. There's style, but again, nothing new.
It's so horribly tough in design and art these days to be doing something new and unique that doesn't invite criticism on what previous style or design method you're "stealing."
That fact alone is what causes the leaders to forge ahead and really show what they've got.

I think it's cool that derek has some involvement with starting a multimedia festival. I also think it's cool that he puts alot of effort into doing whatever it is he does.
But like too many other people here, the praise we could give for a good site of his, or a series of photos is all squashed by just how embasrrassing it is and how comic it is to see such bragadocia and self importance. It's like choking on rose thorns. You can see something good at the end but the effort and pain in getting there just destroys the experience you could have.

And derek, you seriously don't know the image you portray. Maybe like liquid says someday you'll be 28 and if you still have reason to think about it you'll realize that you really looked like a fool, and that many people had every reason to confront you about your attitude and nonsense.

As for the YM thing, considering that it's read by 13 year olds, I guess it's a safe bet to not see the cliche in some of the responses there. Candlelight dinners is just about the most tired and overused way of showing romantic intentions in the history of dating and romance, but to a 13 year old they're all new to it. You may just avoid being seen for the generic crap that comprises the YM bio.
