seems i remember when i was dereks age, i wasn't quite so full on self promotion and hyping myself all the time..

if he's that young, and has all the sponsorships he says he has, and all the work/clients etc.

not a bad start...i've met guys that were all hot air before..born salesmen, ya know?..
totally full of shit, but with that sincere smile that makes you want to kick them..
the ones that always seem to be rolling in cash, driving nice cars and living in nice condos etc...it's sort of like a confidence game that way...
i think what derek has, is that he has that same confidence...
and he's able to convince others around him that he's all that...beyond that, i think he truly does seem to enjoy design and the design world...
he'll tone it down eventually i'm sure...
atleast around here anyhow..
for some folks, it takes awhile to fit in...
hell, the first thread i remember taking part in, i think i told transfatty he was being an idiot or something like that...yikes..
that was back when he was just Patrick obrien 'round here..but still.....
