Ram is your friend, but its NOT that expensive if you dont buy from apple.
Go to www.crucial.com and pick up a stick of 512 to bump you up to 1gig for 110 bucks ...
if you have 256 to start with.. i would recomment getting 2, 512 sticks...it would only be about 220.. and selling your 256 on ebay
