    What!?!?

Just because the guy spoke his mind he should've been fired? Regardless of whether or not his participation was due to a client could they not respect his right to his own opinion? I would hate to think that my opinions as personal as they are regarding politics, religion, or sex could be seen as grounds for dismissal as this has no bearing on my professionality or ability. It's discrimination and it should not be tolerated in any context.

Shame on the company that fired him. How dare they be cowed into firing this person for voicing an opinion. Shame on the client for blackmailing the agency into firing him and taking it personally.

If a client sent me to a Pink concert you better believe i'm going to bottle her off the stage.
