Seriously dude, i bought the canon eos 300d (rebel) and it is great camera.
i have taken 500+ shots off the one charge. quality is excelent even at full zoom.
i also have a pentax optio 3030 and that is a 3 megapixel. i realised the pentax wasnt good enough after two weeks.
put it this way buy one good camera now or buy one later after out growing your happy snapper.
