I dunno, I have friends in Lauderdale and South Beach;
Lauderdale is okay but the nightlife is surprisingly small.
South Beach is AWESOME, but rent isn't all that cheap and partying will definitely put a dent in your bank account. Tampa is dirt cheap and growing fast, but it is still searching for an identity. St. Pete right across the bay has more creative types, and a pretty nice downtown.Personally I would go straight to Miami Beach if you move to FL.
