So, make it their habit. Redirect them to a text only site, or to a page that says "Sorry, you're using an outdated web browser FREE upgrades are available here..."
Give them the information they need to understand that the Web changes...and if they don't learn to adapt then they won't get what they're looking for.
It's harsh, and sure, there will be complaints - but, then again people bitched endlessly about television when it was new, and when color televisiion was new...and so on.
Times change, technology changes and users won't unless they are forced to.
It's that simple.
Deal with the ones who accept it and leave the ones that don't to whither.
So sayeth thy standards.
