I see what you're trying to say, but it would be better received if you simply said "sometimes the best inspirations comes from things that dont seem to have a parallel with your subject at first glance." or something like that.
But i agree we are all inspired by something else...the fact that we are communicating right now is proof YOU RIPPED OFF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE BY RIPPING 26 LETTERS OFF THE ALPHABET ASSHOLE. joking, but for real, there are things inate in us, and even our so called "instinct" is influenced from ancestors. Is a baby spider "original" for knowing how to spin a web even though no one showed it how to?
