I lived in Hawaii since for the longest time of my life. (which isn't that long...) but depends where you going man. If you're going to Oahu (toursits island) or Big Island (the nature island) or Maui + Kauai (the resort island). Can't go to Lanai because they only accept natives there to preserve the heritage (bs). But if you staying in Oahu, Maui, or Kauai just take extra cash to have fun. Unless you just cruse at the beach all day surfing.
