I know I'm on the wrong side of the water, but I'll give you guys a little tip.

Most computers have a very low profit margin. Sometimes as low as 5%. I work for a large computer retailer and I'm looking at our cost versus retail price on a G5 Dual 1.8GHz machine. Retail price is $1999.97, cost is about $183 less.

So when you do go out and buy, prices won't vary much. What will vary is what comes with the machine or what they're willing to throw in. So ultimately, you're going to want to concentrate on whoever wants to give you the most free RAM and who has the best service. Believe me, you WANT a service contract be it through Applecare or another company.
