i saw once a guy took 2x4s and bolted them to the walls to make a path for the cat to walk on around the house. there were parts that of course led back down to the floor, but also straight across the room to the other side. the cats totally loved it. kinda looked like shit though ya know. you really can't do that in a nice apt.
