I don't think contests are an accurate gauge of talent. They are more about the personal preferences of the judges. I've been in juried shows where I just couldn't figure out where the hell the judge was coming from, shit was awarded, talent was unrecognized. Your designs are as good as any of the winners, I like the typographic elements in them. I still think contests are good to enter, especially if it can get your work published or printed. I just don't take the outcome too seriously.
