Unfortunately I think it's all who you know, like everything else in this cliquey world. I think your style, probably wouldn't help you get in the door, not that it's bad, it's just so different from the norm, you may want to start by approaching someone in the biz to help you build up a diversity in your work. I have a few friends in Toronto that do this for a living and it's a tough thing to get into unless, you've been in the "scene" for a while.
