i assume you refer to mitte? i think you'll enjoy either prenzlauerberg or kreuzberg (as close to mitte as possible) more. mitte tends to be a little bit more expensive. but average price depends on how big that 1 room should be, if you have central heating, if it's renovated or not. it's still possible to rent places where you still have to heat with coals. those are really quite cheap to rent.
