berlin is great for culture/history. i had a wonderful time. but if you're looking for postcard "pretty" then you'll head elsewhere.
amsterdam was fun and "cute". i thought it was a little small, but i was able to hop on a train and head to paris, which took only four hours.
paris was great. took a little while to adjust to the crowd and hustle, though. berlin and amsterdam both have a laid-back personality that i loved.
