alright this topic hit a nerve. first off...design is something to take seriously. it shouldnt be a task you do with your brain turned off, or stoned out of your shoes....smart design is something that hits a note in the viewer..the simple asnwers it seems always carry a bigger stick you know? i read some posts about sampling and what not..sure, go for it, but make sure you know why and what you are doing. jacking a style doesnt make you good. using the noggin makes you good.
damn im sick of this lame work that i see around...they get work somehow...im not being an ego asshole..im being anal about quality..consumer report style....i am both the public and the designer...my eyes are sick of the garbage they see. people knowing crap about "design" and make flyers for clubs or whatnot.
read a book or two people. start with emil ruder. there i said it, are you happy? EMIL RUDER!
