i'm just amazed sometimes thought that people really vote on basic issues that won't affect actual policies that a president would put into effect. case in point, my old roommate would vote repub. always because he'd never want anyone to take his gun from underneath his pillow. thing is, no one's trying to change that about his lifestyle. they ARE trying to change things like how he's taxed, what programs he needs are being supported, etc... no one's gonna touch issues that people stupidly vote on (abortion, guns, gay marriage, etc...)
so campaigns come down to these non-changing issues and mudslinging, neither of which get us anywhere productive.
just my 2 cents
