it was a "liveable" (i.e. had water, heat and rudimentary electric sustem) small 3 story brick townhouse on a then-deserted block in Philadelphia. Over the years I redid all the electric, got custom-milled historically accurate moldings, insulated and plastered (real 3 coat plaster), did some plumbing, redid the roof, did the floors, added a deck, a actually built a raised panel mortis and tenon front door our of clear 2" white pine.
