    From experience the Media 100 people are a complete bitch to work with support wise. However, if your editors are going to be supplimenting your design team you may want to risk the support hassles and ludicrous update costs for their product.

    Avid makes some wonderful stuff, and generally are pretty good to work with as well. We have had much better luck hiring quality editors now that we switched over to the avid side (as there are more of them around)... but we have found that sometimes very simple polishing effects (ie: color correction, gamma shifts, ect) have longer render times on our avid system than our previous Media 100 system. But when used as an edit box and not as a cover the designer's (me) ass box...it is great.
