  alas! i figured this @#$% out and i don't have to resort to the projector method.

  for anyone who has to do this in the future and needs some help...
  import your SWF file into director and then export as an AVI. it seems that director can understand embedded movies and actionscript. once you have your AVI, you can use nero to create all the necessary VIDEO_TS files on a DVD that will play on your TV.

  i hope this will save somebody THE EIGHT HOURS OF HELL that i just went through :)

  now, if someone wants to tell me how to get this DVD to automatically loop, i'm all ears.
