ha, the tea party went out of business. skip that.
the mfa is a surprisingly good museum if you want to see some art ( http://www.mfa.org ).
the duck tours, no offense, are for morons imo. check out the north end, the old italian quarter. lots of historic buildings, lots of cafes and good restaurants and bakeries (stay away from mike's on hanover street, it's a tourist trap; instead go to bova's on salem street)
on the way there, you can check out the largest construction project going on in the US right now, the Big Dig. they just tore down an elevated highway separating the North End from the rest of boston and are trying to turn it into parks. you can reach the north end easily by following the freedom trail from faneuil hall/quincy market.
yeah, def. check a sox game if you're in town. too bad you're not staying till the 23rd, the yankees are in town. that's always boston at it's finest.
