yea. corel is bad about that shit.
ive had that happen a lot when bringing a Corel created EPS into freehand or illustrator.

all i really know to do is to combine the shape inthe new program and reapply the gradient. at least that has been my experience.
FUCK COREL!!! i have to work in it for about 6 hours a day. it is shit.
