I'm talking mainly about automotive design here... in that field most larger companies wont consider someone who hasnt been through a design school simply because they havent been immersed in the common culture that helps designers work as a team and draw methodically on the heritage an dprinciples of the design profession... probably less applicable for graphic design, product design, fine arts etc.... but why not take your talent and add to it with formal education, hone your skills and its usually fun too!
