Man i was MADE to read that thing over and over again when i was a kid - the absolute WORST i read in there was instructing Muslims to stick together and not to trust non-believers, cos they will mislead u or some such bullshit. OVER AND OVER again in went on about how u shud never opress Christians and Jews because "they are people of the book".
You dont know shit! Pisses me off. There's so much i hate about that religion, and there's so many reasons i rejectd iit in my early teens, or even before. But to come out with that crap.... Damn i get so wound up on here, especially by what kona says. Then i call him an idiot and get banned. Just dont have the patience for this.
to kill non-believers??? what???? That's ridiculous. It talks about spreading the message, and defending other muslims wherever they are if they need to be defended, but fuck IT DOES NOT SAY ANYWHERE TO KILL NON BELIEVERS. The history is self-evident. Islam has existed side-by-side with all the worlds major religions in relative peace. Relative because no-one who believes in dogma (especially islam which is the most dogmatic of religions) is gonna live in piece. In India the ruling Mughals ruled over a kingdom of the most diversified religions in the world - Islamic Kings like Akhbar had Buddhists and Hindu's and weirdo fire-worshippers in his court - closest advisors; he called it his relgion of heaven.
And in the middle east, Jews and Christians lived side by side under muslim rules for over a thousand years. Ofcourse there were massacres and wars (on both sides, not least the massacre the Jews of Persia committed against muslims under the auspices of the conquering Mongolian army)... but believe me when i tell u, it was far less than what the Christians of EUrope did to the Jews or the fuckin crusadres did to the Muslims. But no-one tarnishes christianity like its out to kill all non-believers.
