my mate fell asleep with his contacts in (drunk) tried to remove them the next morning but couldn't. He kept trying and trying, picking at his eyes until they were really sore, had to go to the hospital as his eyes were by that time streaming. It turned out he had taking out the contacts but didn't remember (drunk) and had been pulling at the cornea all day...
